The
Premium Water Powered Backup Sump Pump
Patent

|
Basepump
is an extremely reliable, very powerful, water powered backup sump pump
system. With no battery to wear out or maintain, no charger to plug in or
monitor, it is designed as an automatic, independent system from the
primary sump pump. Basepump is essentially in a class by itself. Mounted on the ceiling,
high above the sump, it doesn't have to fight the
downward force of the water that most competitors' pumps must push up vertically. For
this reason, Basepump consistently removes more water per hour than other water
powered backup sump pumps and even rivals the best battery powered backup
sump pumps, short- and long- term. Period.

Theory of Operation:
A float mounted in the sump pit above the normal high water level, is
lifted when water rises too high. It activates a valve, sending a
powerful stream of water from your municipal water supply through the
Basepump Ejector. Acting like a giant soda straw, it draws the sump
water up from the pit and ejects it to the outdoors. As the water is
removed from the pit, the float returns to its lowest level, and after a
pre-set period of time, the pumping stops until the next time it is
needed. |

To eliminate any confusion,
this chart simply means that if you have the given water pressure in
your home, with all faucets and Basepump turned OFF, the pumping rates
shown in this chart are the rates you should expect from the model you
choose, when it turns on. Keep in mind that these are very close
approximations and the pumping rate in your home may vary depending on
several factors such as restrictions in your water lines or long
discharge pipe runs, whether vertical or horizontal. Some charts given
by other manufacturers may misrepresent their pumping rates by placing
in the "fine print" that their given pressures are with the pump
actually running. This is usually missed by most people trying to make
comparisons, and is also difficult to determine. You may have 60 lbs.
PSI with the pump off and it goes down to 30 lbs. PSI when it turns on.
This means that the chart they gave you must be read at the 30 lbs. PSI
level and not at the 60 lbs. PSI you thought it meant. |
|
The Homeowners Page has loads of information to help
you decide. You should purchase
according to your home's water supply and its ability to run the
pump. There is a
test
that can be performed using no special equipment. We recommend
that this test be performed before any Basepump is installed. It helps determine if there is adequate water flow through your pipes
to operate one of these three units. And it only takes a few minutes.
|
There are three different
installation types for each Basepump Model. They are all illustrated
here. Basepump must be ordered according to the installation type you
plan to use.
