The
Premium Water Powered Backup Sump Pump
|
Basepump
is an extremely reliable, very powerful, water powered backup sump pump
system. With no battery to wear out or maintain, no charger to plug in or
monitor, it is designed as an automatic, independent system from the
primary sump pump. Basepump is essentially in a class by itself. Mounted on the ceiling,
high above the sump, it doesn't have to fight the
downward force of the water that most competitors' pumps must push up vertically. For
this reason, Basepump consistently removes more water per hour than other water
powered backup sump pumps and even rivals the best battery powered backup
sump pumps, short- and long- term. Period. So instead of a flooded
basement because of a sump pump failure or a power failure, install a water powered Basepump backup sump pump before it happens.

When the water in your sump rises above normal for
any reason,
the Basepump float is
lifted. This activates a valve, sending municipal water under pressure through the
Basepump Ejector. Then, acting like a giant soda straw, it draws the sump
water up and ejects it to the outdoors. As the float returns to its lowest level, the pumping stops after a
pre-set period of time, draining the sump down until the water rises
above normal again and the cycle starts all over again.

Models with the -AVB

be connected to the main sump pump discharge. They MUST be installed
using the Outdoor Discharge Method As Shown Here
Built-in Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker prevents contamination of potable water
supply, when installed correctly.

How do I know whether I need a Standard
Model or an AVB Model?
You may need to call your local plumbing department and
ask if an AVB, or other back-flow prevention device is required.
Then you need to know if you can install one in your
home. The models with -AVB suffix MUST be installed just like it is
shown,
with a separate discharge that is self-draining to the
exterior. DO NOT connect the -AVB models to your main sump pump discharge or
try pumping water up higher than the pump and then out. In both cases, water from the discharge
pipe will be forced back toward the Basepump and will spill out of the
open AVB device onto your floor. This model handles the back-flow issue
when properly installed, and does not reduce pumping capacity. See Back-Flow
Prevention for details.
How do I know what size to buy?
Start with the 5
Gallon Bucket Test, as shown on our Homeowners
Page.
It's simple and easy to do and requires no special equipment (a
bucket and a watch!).

This chart simply means that if you have the given water pressure in
your home, with all faucets and Basepump turned OFF, the pumping rates
shown in this chart are the rates you should expect from the model you
choose. The pumping rate in your home may vary depending on factors such as restrictions in your water lines or long
discharge pipes. |
