Basepump, The Water Powered Backup Sump Pump"Ask For It By Name"

The Premium Water Powered Backup Sump Pump

Basepump is an extremely reliable, very powerful, water powered backup sump pump system. With no battery to wear out or maintain, no charger to plug in or monitor, it is designed as an automatic, independent system from the primary sump pump. Basepump is essentially in a class by itself. Mounted on the ceiling, high above the sump, it doesn't have to fight the downward force of the water that most competitors' pumps must push up vertically. For this reason, Basepump consistently removes more water per hour than other water powered backup sump pumps and even rivals the best battery powered backup sump pumps, short- and long- term. Period. So instead of a flooded basement because of a sump pump failure or a power failure, install a water powered Basepump backup sump pump before it happens.

Each Basepump comes with a
FREE battery operated water alarm!

Basepump, The Water Powered Backup Sump Pump

Sump water is drawn up into here

Municipal water enters here

How it works:

The water in your sump pit goes above normal for whatever reason.
Basepump float mounted above the normal high water level is lifted when the water rises too high.
This activates a valve, sending municipal water under pressure through the Basepump Ejector.
Acting like a giant soda straw, it draws the sump water up and ejects it to the outdoors.
As the float returns to its lowest level, the pumping stops after a pre-set period of time.
When the water rises above normal again, it all starts over again.

So how do I know whether I need a Standard Model or an AVB Model? Pay close attention to the installation options shown above. The standard model is adaptable to most situations, including connection of the discharge to the main sump pump discharge, as shown. If a back-flow prevention device is needed, a dual check valve may be used in the city water supply pipe just before the pump. Pumping capacity is not affected by this in any appreciable way.

The - must be installed just like it is shown, with a separate discharge that is self-draining to the exterior. Do not connect this model to your main sump pump discharge or try pumping water up and out. In both cases, water from the discharge pipe will be forced back toward the Basepump and will spill out of the open AVB device onto your floor. This model handles the back-flow issue and does not reduce pumping capacity. See Back-Flow Prevention for details.

How do I know what size to buy? Start with the 5 Gallon Bucket Test. It's simple and easy to do, requires no special equipment, and helps you answer that question.

Included Water Alarm

One FREE battery operated water alarm included with every Basepump purchase! Batteries included! Uses 2 CR2032 Button Cell Batteries, available wherever batteries are sold.

Set the probe in the sump at the water level where you want to have the alarm sound. When even a little water touches the probe, it sounds an 80 dB alarm that can be heard upstairs in the house, but probably won't scare you or rock you out of bed! It sounds much like a typical smoke alarm.

Silence and Test buttons are on the front cover and easy, push-in connectors for the 15 Foot float cable. Built-in contacts for connection to your security system or auto-dialer

Some states and municipalities recommend or require a back-flow device whenever potable water could be compromised in any way by ground water or other contaminants. Regardless of how remote the possibility of this occurring, the installer of such a product may be required to add such a device to the installation. To install: connect this to the water supply end of the Basepump and insert a male adapter into the other end.

PIPE NOT INCLUDED

Install Basepump water powered backup sump pump using a No-Sweat; solder free, water supply connection system. These are push type fittings suitable for piping into your existing copper, CPVC, or PEX system; no special tools are needed. This will have you saying, "I can do this myself." Make secure, leak-free connections in a moment.

No torch, No crimping tools, No wrenches, No soldering paste or flux, No burned fingers, No fire hazards, No frustrating leaks, No smelly adhesives, No solder or other disposable materials. Just fast, easy, secure connections; simply push together and move on. Each kit comes with ferrule inserts to reinforce PEX and CPVC pipe ends. Push the pipe all the way into the fitting and it is sealed, right then and there. No going back over it to glue, press, or solder. You can even turn the fittings after insertion if needed to line them up properly. Try that with a glued or soldered fitting!

Flexible stainless steel tubing included!!

Flexible stainless steel pipe section with female threaded fittings on each end. It looks just like a gas stove connector, but is rated for potable water. The fittings on each end swivel like a union so you don't need a separate union fitting. This can be threaded right onto the nipple that comes with Basepump and the other end can receive the male adapter from the kit.  It usually eliminates the need for extra fittings, because it can be twisted and turned in many ways to fit. The 3/4" flexible line is 18" long and the 1/2" flexible line is 30" long.
